The Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency will be distributing food boxes at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at the following locations:
- AEOA, 702 Third Ave. South in Virginia.
- North Woods School, 10248 Olson Road in Cook.
- Old School Lives, 9165 Highway 53 in Cotton.
- Keewatin Community Center, 215 N. First St. in Keewatin.
A distribution at 1:30 p.m. will be at B&B Market, 506 Big Lake Road, in Cloquet.
Patrons should arrive no sooner than 15 minutes before the beginning of the event, stay in their vehicles and wear a mask when communicating with volunteers, AEOA said. Food is given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
Boxes include fresh produce, dairy and meat products sourced from American producers through the United States Department of Agriculture and Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. AEOA also distributes shelf-stable kits for between five and 42 meals.
According to an AEOA release, food box distribution will continue weekly through April 29, when the current Phase Five Farmers to Families Food Box program ends. It is not yet known if the program will be renewed.
AEOA food distribution events are held every Thursday. Updates are posted to the AEOA Facebook page weekly.
