The lines were long, the residents were hungry and the food was delicious inside the Flint Hills Mall parking lot Saturday.
The mall hosted its second-ever food truck rally Saturday with hundreds of hungry food lovers braving the constant rainfall to sample some of the best offerings the local food truck community had to offer. Mall Marketing Manager Heather Siebert was extremely pleased with the turnout Saturday and says the event is a great benefit both for the businesses and community members alike.
According to Siebert, Saturday's event was simply a fun community gathering and not a competition like last fall's Food-A-Palooza event. Siebert went on to say that the mall is planning to host two food truck events a year from this point on with Food-A-Palooza set to return this fall.
She says she is hoping to increase the number of participating food trucks and is even looking at the possibility of bringing in trucks from outside of the local community for the future.
Saturday's participating food trucks included:
*Gustoso
*Poppin 4 U 2 Kettle Corn
*Lazy Butt BBQ
*Miss Antojitos
*Grab N Go Hot Dogs
*Flint Hills Tech College Fusion Truck
*JDs Wood Fire Pizza
