The U.S. Forest service is reminding Salt Springs visitors of the dangers of leaving unattended food outside of containers.
On a recent social media post, the U.S. Forest Service reports noticing a flock of buzzards at Salt Springs eating unattended food that was uncovered.
The service says scavenging animals, like buzzards, will take full advantage of food being left and urge visitors to contain their food in coolers or bear-proof containers.
Prevent your meal from being a to-go order, and make sure to place your food in a cooler or a bear-proof container for the safety of the animals and visitors
