Rhinelander - The sixth annual Harvest Hoedown took place at the Woodpecker Bar and Grill, near Rhinelander, on Saturday. The event was hosted by the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry which helps community members with food insecurities. Harvest Hoedown is just one of many fund-raisers that the food pantry does each year.
RAFP operations assistant, Courtney Smith spoke about how impactful the event is to the Rhinelander community. "We have a community that experiences food insecurity, so the pantry was founded as a grass roots effort to address food insecurity in our community and this is the Harvest Hoedown which is our largest fundraiser that we do each year, as well as a way to just to celebrate our community and their support," said Smith.
Smith says that each time the food pantry hosts events like the hoedown, food pantry coordinators are blown away with the amount of support they receive from locals. The event featured horse-drawn wagon rides, vendors, live music, and games for kids.
